Technology is Changing Lives: TME Education’s Impact in Kenya, Uganda, Zambia, and India

October 2025 marked a powerful month of progress as TME Education Ambassadors continued to inspire and empower students across Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and India. From university workshops to international competitions, the month’s activities showcased how technology can transform education and open new paths for young learners.

Kenya: From Local Classrooms to a Global Stage

In Kenya, students achieved something remarkable. Team Kenya, supported by Ambassador Kelvin Kangethe Gitau, won a silver medal at the FIRST Global Robotics Challenge in Panama, competing against teams from more than 190 countries.

Back home, learners at St Dominic’s TATI, and NIBS College explored circuit design and product development, while World Space Day events reached young minds across Laikipia, sparking curiosity about space and science.

Uganda: Innovation Begins with Understanding

At Makerere University, Tutor Jjuuko Titus Bazira led a two-week training programme where students learned about embedded programming, electronics, circuit design, and 3D printing. Through hands-on activities, they built confidence and practical skills essential for real-world technology challenges.

Zambia: Deepening Knowledge, Expanding Reach

In Zambia, Tutor Nancy Mutachila worked with secondary school students on advanced electronics projects involving RGB and LCD displays. Her team also began planning outreach in rural schools, expand access to technology education across the country.

India: Turning Curiosity into Creation

Over 85 students across City Convent and Summer Valley Schools in India participated in hands-on STEM sessions. Guided by TME Education kits, students created working devices such as digital rulers and motion-activated sensors, turning abstract ideas into real projects.

These efforts show how TME Education is building more than just skills—it is creating opportunities. As the programme continues to grow, young people in these countries are proving that with the right tools and support, they can lead the way in shaping a smarter, more connected future.
